Does no charge the Touch by Eric Lee
I have had this along with the Garmin/ Kenwood nav for my double-din since it was released. It seems to not charge with the Touch although it does play.
It works but really sucks that it’s such a pain to navigate playlists. I know they want to keep selling new units but I really wish they would come out with some kind of software update or something
Good Product, Great Service by Jesus Inzunza
The product was delivered on time, it’s exactly what I was hopping. Had a great experience in this purchase.
Thanks for everything

Not functional by Seidy Castillo Jiron
I have a 160gb ipod and using it with this devise is very slow. If you have to go to the letter “R” for example is better to disconnect it and select the song manually and reconnect. The good thing is that you get very good sound quality.
Effective but Clunky by Stephan Krasner
I got the KCA-iP500 to play my iPhone in the car on my existing Kenwood stereo unit. For the most part the sound quality is great. The hook up is relatively easy if you know how to remove the dashboard on your car. you literally plug and play. The cord is long too which makes it ideal for phone calls while driving. The ring tone even plays through the stereo when you receive a call.
I subtracted two stars for very poor controls. The controls are fine if you just have a big lump of songs in one playlist. But getting to the song you want with many playlists is close to impossible. To make matters worse, you cannot control the iPhone directly while it is connected. A message pops up on the screen that says a device is connected. You can still control all the other features of the iPhone like Maps, Camera and Phone. But the iPod application is locked into the system while connected. Whether this is Kenwood’s fault or Apple’s I’m not sure, but it’s very annoying. It’s also difficult to control audio books. If you advance a track by accident it restarts the book and you have to disconnect it and search for where you left off.
Bottom line: Great product (and one of the only products) for connecting and charging the iPhone with little to no interference. Bad product in terms of interface and controls.
