V-Moda, Bass Freq-BlingBlingBlack-$15 by Michael A. Musa
I received these headphones through amazon yesterday. actually bought it on ebay, paid $15 shipping included. I must say these headphones are in sound comparison with my sony ex71’s. The bass is unbelievable. the muffled sound can be taken care of by experimenting with the different size inserts. With the sony’s I used the larger inserts but I find to get the better sound with the midsize inserts with the V-Moda’s. Also note, if your mp3 player have an eq, it must be adjusted and tailored to your preference, then you will really appreciate the sound from these babies. As for durability, we’ll just have to wait and see. Last earphones were Koss. Those lasted almost a year, delivered good sound as well but not better and as comfortable as the V-Moda’s. Hope these little review helped some who are considering getting these in-earphones.

Great value for the quality! by Michael Shubic
I did some research on these earbuds on CNET and they rated them really high, so I thought I’d give them a shot. I used to have some Sony earbuds before for around the same price, however these are far superior. Great sounds, great bass, I think a great overall value.

Without a Doubt, the BEST!! by Echo
Ok, I’ve been searching for replacement buds for my Koss Sparkplugs for a while (If you see my review on them you’ll know why), and until I got these I’d been through two other sets and wasted $$ on them both; the Koss KEB24 has that annoying ’round the back’cord style, popping out of my ears repeatedly as I’m not used to that short-side, and I couldn’t seem to get sound to come from both sides simultaneously. I was about to head to the doctor to see if I had a hearing problem (I’m almost serious) because I could hold the Left side away from my ear and hear sound coming through fine, but once inserted into the ear it was muffled drastically; coupled with the fact I had the mp3 player’s volume much louder than was necessary & still couldn’t hear well from either side.

Then there was the JBuds Hi-Fi Noise-Reducing Ear Buds. Good design, earbuds fit “Ok”, but there was basically NO bass. Another $20 wasted. Did more review-searching, and came across these little beauties. Hm, “bass Freq”? Well, why not? It was this or go back to the great-sounding-but-tragically-short-lived Koss SparkPlug, and I KNEW what was in store if I did the latter. Got these in last night, they glided into the ear with the sized cushions right out of the package, and when I turned on the iPod…Impressed is putting it mildly!

My music tastes range from classical to (some) Hip-Hop, Soundtrack scores to Disco and 80s Pop, New Age to Techno and EVERYTHING sounds great from these headphones. I almost killed my ears listening to Steve Jablonsky’s “Scorponok”:) and loved every pulsing second of it. The manufacturers aren’t kidding when they say you can feel the bass in these–you CAN (but may not want to).

If that’s an issue, then please look elsewhere for a headset. If you’re a “bass FREQ” like I am, look no farther. The noise-cancellation is terrific; on the SparkPlug I had the cushions pretty well jammed into my ear canal to block out the environmental sounds; these sit quite comfortably without having to press hard into the ear at all, making prolonged use enjoyable and no worries about having to take them out momentarily and then struggle with getting ‘just the right fit’ again (like I did with the Spark). Now, the only question left is durability, because I loved the SparkPlug too, until every one I had stopped working less than 4mo old, so expect an update in a few months on this. Now let’s get back to the music.

Excellent sound, symmetrical length cables can be a problem by Computer programming babykiller deathmetal pirate
At first I thought there was too much bass but then after a couple of days got used to it. I then compared this against some of my other pairs (Sennheiser mx450, Razer m100) and these win. They don’t match up to full-sized headphones, but for an in-ear sound-isolating pair, these are wonderful.

I haven’t tested these against the pricey Shure set but i do know that Cnet put these and the Shures in their top 5 sound isolating headphones, so for the price, these are a steal!

I hate asymmetrical length cables, that is, where one ear has a longer cable than the other. So I was happy when I found that the cable lengths are equal on this pair. Until I started walking around with these and realized that due to the lengths being the same, the “THWOK! THWOK!” effect is a lot worse on these, that is, as you walk and the cable bounces against you, it travels up to the ear and boy do you hear it! You can get pretty used to the sound after a while but it is a bit worse on this pair compared to others and I’m guessing it is because of the symmetrical cable design.
